Created at DuPont Chemical Company in 1991 by Winston Ledet, Ph.D. and others, The Manufacturing Game® is the result of a six year effort to understand benchmark maintenance data gathered from manufacturing facilities around the world. The use of system dynamics modeling to understand the maintenance function of manufacturing enterprises resulted in a greater understanding of reliability and proactive manufacturing. To convey this new understanding, The Manufacturing Game® was developed as an innovative learning tool for DuPont and has achieved outstanding results. Increased demand for this type of learning approach led Winston Ledet to leave DuPont after twenty-seven years to offer this innovative tool to other companies. The Manufacturing Game® has been used by more than twenty-five companies in five countries to help them become "world class" manufacturing facilities. |
